For days before Danieal Kelly died in a fetid, airless room — made stifling hot by a midsummer heat wave — the bedridden teenager begged for something to drink until she could muster only one word: water.
Unable to help herself because of her cerebral palsy, she wasted away from malnutrition and maggot-infested bedsores that ate her flesh. She died alone on a putrid mattress in her mother’s home, the floor covered in feces. She was 14 but weighed just 42 pounds.
As a mother, I am terribly disgusted by this. How could anyone do this to their own child? The sad thing is, a lot of outside people knew about how this child was dying and did absolutely nothing about it. Some people don’t deserve to be parents. If you feel that you are unable to take care of or provide for a child, then you need to give someone else a chance who would be a great parent. By this I mean adoption. I don’t even really know what to say except that I hope the parents of this child and the contributing parties do some time.

This is the perfect example of how some people do not deserve to be parents or having children. I feel so sorry for that child to have to suffer and not have one person in her life to even give a damn

I know! I mean what is the point of having a child, keeping it, if you’re not going to take of them properly? That is so not fair. She barely even had a chance at life. The least they could have done is given her up for adoption, like you said, and let someone who would actually take care of the child and give her opportunities.
It’s so pathetic.
This is so sad and what’s more disturbing that other people knew and did nothing. The parents are to blame and those who knew. Seriously, what is the world coming to?

That is so treacherous. This is one of the reasons I chose to be a therapist in the future… so that I can help the suffering minds of children who suffer from this and of the adults who do this to their children… because they are not thinking rationally like we do. They are sick and extremely disturbed and they need help (preferably before it gets this bad…).
I am disgusted at this mother. I just cannot even imagine being in that state of mind to allow yourself to do that to your child. I just recently heard about children that were locked up in cages! Well, you look like a good mommy and Syncere is so precious!
People like this shouldn’t be allowed to have a trial they should just be killed…they let some helpless child die and didn’t care at all, we should have no remorse for their deaths. Maybe I’m a little harsh. Nah.

Forget doing time, they should be given the death sentence. It’s beyond cruel to just sit there and watch a human suffer like that =[. There are definitely people who don’t deserve to be parents… And to think no one did anything about it? That’s sad.

Stuff like that just hurts my heart. I am angered too, but the emotion of sadness is just overwhelming. If hell had levels, I hope parents like that end up on the worst level of it as possible.

No. I haven’t heard about that. That is terrible. How the hell are they going to sue DHS when these people are clearly responsible for that bullshit. Absurd!
Yeah, it was in the Inquirer today. It was so clearly their fault that they didn’t take care of the child in the first damn place to have DHS come checking on them! Hopefully, a jury doesn’t feel pity for the damn fools and award them damage – they are suing for $50,000.
