As I was growing up, my mother became heavily indulged in Arts and Crafts. She would go to those arts and crafts stores and buy supplies. Then she’d come home and get to working on her crafts. Most of her crafts were done for our very own house, others she sold to family members and friends. I thought that it was a great form of artistic expression and an excellent way to earn extra cash. She had a friend who was into the same thing. Eventually, her friend ended up opening her own little arts and crafts store in the neighborhood and sold some of her work. Lately, I’ve been thinking about continuing where my mother left off. Only this time, I would like to run the business online. I know it will take some time to complete or even get started for that matter, but lately I’ve been having ideas about little home decorations that people could use. Have you ever needed some kind of homely decoration and couldn’t find anything to match the theme of your home? I seek to assist people with that in any way possible. This isn’t some grand plan. It’s just a little something that I feel like I should indulge in and expand my hand crafting.
Once this project is launched, I will most likely utilize Ashop Commerce’s shopping cart software. So far, it’s one of the best shopping cart software I’ve seen. It’s easy to install, customize, and use. It offers free 24 tech support, upgrades, email, and web promotion tools. To help secure your orders, it also offers fraud detection. I know that these features will be beneficial to my project. I want to keep thing strictly professional, if possible. If you have are starting an online business, I recommend this shopping cart software.
I’ve upgraded to Wordpress 2.3 using Alex Günsche’s Instant Upgrade plugin. I’ve used it twice so far and I haven’t had any problems with it. One thing I did have to do though, was replace my smilies again because once you upgrade, it reverts back to the wordpress default smilies. So before upgrading, I’d recommend saving the coding that links to your custom smilies. I find that using plugins is really convenient because honestly, I know I would have screwed up upgrading manually. I almost did before. If you’re considering using this plugin, I highly recommend that you read all of the instructions carefully before attempting to use the plugin.
For those of you who are into drama, horror, or suspense films, I recommend seeing High Tension. It was a very interesting movie will loads of suspense. Here’s the trailer:
Enjoy. :)

So is that movie out on dvd now? i’m a fan of horror and suspense movies. I might go and try to find the online version of it or something.
That seems like a good idea though. I love Arts & Craft, I took art a lot in high school. It’s fun creating new things out of house hold items. I really want to go on a shopping spree to that crafts store Michael’s lol. Anywhos, I say if you’re going to pursue it then give it your all, even if it’s not something you plan to do with the rest of your life. Good luck and most of all, have fun =].

My mom is into that too. She makes the prettiest wreaths, door hangings and flower arrangements. She even designed the bouquets for my brother’s wedding. I suggested her starting a business, but she never listens to me.
Anyways…
You should do that. It sounds like a really good idea. Just think…you could make a small fortune doing something you love. It’s worth the time and effort. Good Luck!

I do that too! Except I don’t sell online. Kids all over school would pay an assload of cash for one of my plain old sketchbook drawings [ I give em prints for cheaps & sell the original for a higher bid]. Personally I think I suck but I guess it’s my style that attracts the attention =] some people swear I’m all that & a bag of hott cheetos [--_--]
I sell fashion paintings to alot of girls as well. I make hand drawn prints on tees for them with fahsion glitter and what not. Though I only do all that when I need the extra money.
I wish u the bestest of luck with your mini business =D I hope it all goes well [^_^]

That sounds like a wonderful idea. I have been thinking about starting an online business as well. More on the marketing and advertisement side. But, good luck with your venture.
I will have to download that plugin, because I hate installing wordpress and Yahoo! is supposed to do it for me, but they are being lazy.

My mom is into sewing. But she never sold her designs. she always gave it away. I guess she does it for the love of it. Who knows, she probably sold her stuff and i didn’t know. It’s good that your mom had a gift. Not much people set a good future for themselves. I know you’re proud to know your mom have a gift and is known for her work. I hope to see it one day. If you want to carry on the art then go for it. You might end up progressing more than she got a chance to.
